Abstract. Adukonu IA, Ayeh KO, Acheampong E. 2022. Effective decontamination and multiplication of Croton membranaceus in vitro. Cell Biol Dev 6: 68-81. Müll. Arg. is a useful herb with medicinal properties, its leaves, roots, bark are used to treat diverse ailments. However, the harvesting method by traditional medical practitioners without replacement exposes it extinction. Therefore, only means propagating relatively slow use seeds, an alternative propagation needed for field establishment nursery. this study aims at determining effective sterilization regime subsequent vitro regeneration using different explants; intact isolated embryos, coatless nodal-cutting. The explants were decontaminated double sterilization; best was achieved pre-treatment 70% ethanol 3 min before immersion sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl).
